Sonic the Hedgehog Spin-Off “Knuckles” Series Cast Announced

Earlier today, Variety reported new details about the upcoming the “Sonic the Hedgehog” live-action spin-off series starring Knuckles. As reported earlier, the series will take place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the third Sonic the Hedgehog film. The series simply titled, “Knuckles.” will feature the return of several cast members. The current confirmed cast members include Idris Elba, who will be reprising his role alongside Wade Wipple (Adam Pally) and Tika Sumpter (Maddie). Other confirmed cast members include Edi Patterson, Julian Baratt, Scott Mescudi, Rory McCann, and Ellie Taylor. The series will focus on Knuckles who will be training Wade as an Echidna Warrior.

John Whittington (Sonic the Hedgehog 2) will be working as the head writer for the project whereas Brian Schacter and James Madejski will be working as co-writers for the project. Jeff Fowler, who directed the first two theatrical films will direct the pilot episode and will also serve as the executive producer. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Archer, and Toru Nakahara will work also work as executive producers along with Edris Elba. Ged Wright, Barnadon Trost, Jorma Taccone, and Carol Banker have also been hired as directors on the project. Paramount Pictures and SEGA of America will co-produce the project.

No other details about the Paramount Plus series is confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will premiere in theaters on December 20, 2024.
